There is no amount of words to thank everyone at D.W. Brooks Funeral Home. Both of my grandparents passed last year (3 months apart), many members of my family including myself live out of town. But D.W. Brooks (Danny) were able to work with me in organizing everything needed to plan a small memorial service and transportation to Fort Sam Houston Cemetery for both of my grandparents. Everyone was super caring and helpful. I was very stressed trying to plan a service living in a different state and having a few last minute items needed and they took care of everything. I cannot say enough about how amazing they are, my family and I are truly grateful for everything they did.

After learning of my father’s death , my siblings and I converged on San Antonio from all over the U.S. within the week. To say we were overwhelmed by the situation is an understatement. Physically, mentally and emotionally we were just so drained. Then I called D.W. Brooks Funeral Home. The first person I spoke with was Rebecca and she was so sweet and helpful, sending me information almost immediately and reassuring me that someone would be in contact the next day. Having been told that numerous times already by others, only to have them not follow through, I was skeptical. The next morning, as promised, Danny called me. When I hung up the phone I knew I had called the right place. Danny was so calm and assured I couldn’t help but feel like things were finally moving forward. We met the Monday after getting in town at the Funeral Home. Danny and Leonetta talked us through the process with the care and compassion one would hope for. No hard sell, just listening and offering the options they thought would be important to us. After our meeting we chatted with Denzel and Danny about where to find the best BBQ and tamales. Debates were had and solid recommendations were given. If only we’d had more free time… Over next two weeks, while we waited for dad’s burial date at Fort Sam Houston, we exchanged texts and calls often. Questions and concerns were taken care of so quickly it was truly amazing. Dad’s burial service was what I think he would’ve wanted, and everything just happened seemingly without effort. He was surrounded by friends and family and he’s resting peacefully with his military family. On behalf of all of the Lane Family, Danny, Rebecca, Leonetta and Denzel please accept our sincere gratitude for helping us through this difficult time.

My father unexpectedly passed away. He was working in San Antonio and our family lives in Arizona. After finding out that my father passed we immediately left Arizona and drove to San Antonio to take care of my father’s belongings and bring them back to Arizona. I was completely unfamiliar with any funeral homes in San Antonio and looked up D W Brooks online. Their kindness, generosity, compassion and overall level of service far exceeded anything that I could have imagined. I was in a world of hurt and my life had seemed to be unreal at the time that I was in Texas however, Danny and Rebecca were the most caring people that I could have dealt with. I had my father cremated and Danny was able to give our family a viewing of my father to say goodbye before he was sent to be cremated. I cannot thank Rebecca and Danny enough for everything that they did for our us. You will forever be in our hearts and I cannot say enough how much you helped us during this extremely difficult time. In this day and age of diminishing "pride in service" on a general basis, it is extremely refreshing and reassuring to encounter a facility of this caliber. Their demeanor exhibited superb professionalism, utmost in courtesy and a SINCERE desire to assist. They were eager to complete "eleventh hour" requirements and never deviated from a positive attitude. Their industry knowledge, insight and care acumen are irreplaceable assets to anyone utilizing their services.
